About The Artist
Elisa Schmidt is a local Lansing artist and was recently voted one of Lansing Michigans top 5 visual artists according to the City Pulse Top of the Town contest of 2017.
In 2015 and 2017 she was hired by Keys in the City to paint 2 pianos, one with a Lansing Lugnuts baseball theme which sat outside Midtown Brewing Co. and the other piano with a Lansing events theme featuring Elisa's paintings on road maps on the back of the piano. This piano currently resides at the Lansing City Market.
In October -May2017/18 she had a billboard featuring one of her map paintings titled "Mapfest", in two different locations within the city of Lansing.
She is also the illustrator of the award winning children's book "The Business of Beans a Young Entrepreneurs Story in Tanzania, which received the 2017 Childrens Book of the Year seal from the Institute for Financial Literacy.
She has held solo exhibitions or exhibited her artwork at such places as Absolute Gallery, Okemos Library, The Technology and Innovative Center, Katalyst Gallery, Studio Retreat in St. Johns, Gracies Place in Williamston, Keys to Creativity in the Lansing Mall as well as various locations during Arts Night Out events.
Elisa graduated in 2011 from Sienna Heights University in Adrain, MI with a Bachelor of Arts.
